The Mardale Inn
Bampton Valley Community Pub

Coming back to life!
After raising £400,000 to 'Save a Pub for the Valley', 'The Mardale Inn at St Patrick's Well' was purchased by over 500 members of Bampton Valley Community Pub in May 2022. The pub had been closed for 5 years and needed significant investment to secure its future.
As cash permitted, we have been reopening in a phased manner. We started with drinks only on July 1st 2022 and in late November 2022, with invaluable funding from The Prince's Countryside Fund, we reopened the kitchen.
Given amazing support from Inspiring Eden we refurbished 4 of our 6 bedrooms and reopened them in May 2023. (Our Annex bedrooms are being updated to the pub standard in November 2023).
Click on 'Sleep' to book ..... and look out for our inclusive 'Winter Dinner Bed & Breakfast' packages.
Come visit our refreshed pub, meet our friendly team led by Emily, Nick and Steph, enjoy the best in local Cumbrian ales, keg beers, wine, gins and food - and now perhaps stay for a couple of days!
Help us bring the soul of this important Valley community hub to life!

Planning to visit us lunchtime on a Monday to Thursday? The pub is not open at that time but you may buy a coffee, sandwich or pasty etc from our friends at 'Bampton Valley Stores' 75m away from the pub.
Bampton is a small village of narrow lanes so we ask you to walk or cycle to visit us - or park considerately if coming by car. A number of recommended parking places are on the map here - which are only 100 to 200 metres walk away.
