BBC News Mardale

On August 27th 2025, BBC News North West wanted to visit Haweswater to see the emerging village of Mardale given the drought.

Ironically it started to rain briefly, but more interestingly, they got to meet Bob Dickman. Bob, along with his 18 children, grand children and great grand children, is a Member of our Community Pub. He has lived for 45 years in the old Measand Grammar School building which was was the only building of forty eight that survived the flooding of Mardale in the late 30s.
